Scan to BIM

Car Park-AO arena Manchester

We carried out a full laser scan survey of an entire car park and the adjacent office spaces, capturing accurate existing site conditions in detail. The survey data was processed into a complete 3D Revit model, providing a precise digital representation of the building and surrounding areas. From the model, we also generated detailed floor plans and elevations to support design, planning, and future development works.

Car Park- Paddington

City:

London

Duration:

 1 month

Completed:

November 2025

Size:

10 storey car park + offices

The project involved surveying a 10-storey car park together with the adjacent office areas. Data capture was carried out using the Trimble X9 laser scanner, supported by GPS control to ensure full georeferencing accuracy across the entire site. Due to the scale and level of detail required, the survey and data processing took approximately one month to complete, with the final point cloud dataset reaching around 60GB before being transformed into the final Revit model and drawing package.

Our Approach

The project involved surveying a 10-storey car park together with the adjacent office areas, requiring careful planning to capture all structural levels and internal spaces efficiently. We used the Trimble X9 laser scanner in combination with GPS control points to ensure the entire dataset was accurately georeferenced.

Due to the scale of the site and the level of detail required, scanning and data processing were carried out over approximately one month. The final point cloud file reached around 60GB, reflecting the density and precision of the captured information.

Once the fieldwork was completed, the point cloud data was processed and transformed into a detailed 3D Revit model, from which floor plans and elevations were generated to support design coordination and future development.
